Choosing a journal takes more time and has worse information than almost any other decision in publishing. The finders that exist belong to Elsevier, Springer or Wiley, and each one recommends only its own catalogue: you ask where to publish and a publisher answers.
This tool has no catalogue to defend. It searches similar works in OpenAlex and aggregates by journal: fit comes from what was actually published, not from who pays to appear.

We show an OpenAlex citation-percentile quartile within the journal’s main topic, plus APC in USD when known. Not SJR/Scopus.

Elsevier, Springer, Wiley, Taylor & Francis, learned societies and independent open-access journals, in one list with one criterion.
Editorial-risk flag
Flags missing ISSN, OA not in DOAJ, missing homepage, extreme volume or high APC without DOAJ. A first filter, not a legal audit.
No account, manuscript not stored
Only title and abstract are used for the query. No sign-up and no full-PDF upload.
Why this is missing
Elsevier has Journal Finder, Springer has its own, Wiley has its own. All three work well and all three share one problem: they only know their own journals. JANE is neutral but was built on PubMed, so it leaves out everything that is not biomedicine. No finder is both neutral and multidisciplinary.

Where does the data come from?
OpenAlex (works, topics, APC, 2-year citedness) and open signals (ISSN, DOAJ, core, homepage). No publisher pays to appear, or to appear higher.
Do you keep my manuscript?
No. Title and abstract are used to compute fit and are not stored. You never upload the full PDF.
Does it work for humanities and social sciences?
Yes. That is the main difference from JANE, which only covers what is indexed in PubMed. Coverage here is OpenAlex, which spans every field.
Does it include quartiles and review times?
Estimated quartile and APC yes (OpenAlex topic percentile; not SJR). Review times not yet — OpenAlex does not publish them reliably.
